Cybersecurity startup Rezilion to boost local headcount after $30M raise
Rezilion, a cybersecurity startup with operations in St. Charles and Israel, plans to boost its headcount locally and expand its technology after raising $30 million in Series A funding.
Chicago-based Guggenheim Investments led the Series A financing. Other investors in the deal include Jerusalem Venture Partners and London-based Kindred Capital. Several industry experts also backed the round as angel investor, Rezilion said.
Founded in 2018, Rezilion has developed an autonomous development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) platform it says is designed to reduce manual work for companies’ security and engineering teams as they develop new digital products.
"At Rezilion, we are deeply committed to helping organizations drive their own innovation by reducing the resource drain, inaccuracies and operational friction created by manual security work," said Liran Tancman, co-founder and CEO of Rezilion. "We know there's never been a better time for organizations to experience what we call 'trust in motion,' or the peace of mind that comes from moving fast while staying safe and secure.”
Rezilion is co-headquartered in St. Charles and Be’er Sheva, Israel. The company has 55 employees, 21 of whom are located in the U.S. Four employees, including Chief Revenue Officer Mark Bartig, operate out if its St. Charles location.
With its new funding in tow, Rezilion plans to increase its employee count in St. Charles, Bartig said. He said the company intends to make its St. Charles headquarters a hub for its sales development and inside sales operations. It also plans to add marketing staff there too, Bartig added. Locally, Rezilion is based at OPO Startups, located at St. Charles’ historic Main Street.
Rezilion’s leadership said the funding will also be allocated to focus on developing new products and strengthening its go-to-market strategy as it targets expansion of its customer base in the U.S. and Europe.
"Our technology brings developers and security teams together," says Shlomi Boutnaru, co-founder and chief technology officer of Rezilion. "This funding round will allow us to dramatically accelerate our vision by advancing product development and driving growth on a global scale."
